Zucca is now 10 months old- and full of energy. I have been exploring some of the trails near our house this summer.

Venice, Burano, Murano, Trochetto

Last weekend we went on a boat tour of the Venice Lagoon. Our friend, Oliver, was our skipper for 2 days. We ate amazing fresh fish and saw parts of Venice I have never had the oppurtunity to see before. Everywhere we went was so completely different than Feltre, I can’t believe it is so close.

This is the river that we can see and hear from our bedroom window. Alla Casetta seems to be a good spot to start from- a little bit ahead of the waterfall in the last photo.

our winter project

Last November we started this addition- casa in legno. Things progressed pretty slowly in December and January.

But now it looks like this!

We added an entire additional house. The ground floor has a mini apartment for guests and the second floor is our house. Everything is all coming together at the end and will be completed by the end of May for our first scheduled guest of the season.

Christian and I have been busy preserving. We made marmalatta from rhubarb, cherries and strawberries so far. Christian made sambuco syrup from the flowers of the tree. We discovered that it is really good with prosecco. I have been making pesto every few weeks from the huge amounts of basil we have in our garden.

Prosecco and sambuco syrup with a mint leaf was the appertivo at our wedding lunch…

Rolfing studio in Feltre!!!

I think I have opened the first Rolfing studio ever in Feltre. Rolfing is a type of body therapy that can improve movement, flexiblity and also reduce pain or disease caused from many sources. Here is my new office in the center of Feltre!

Market day, Ping Pong and cards

Christian and I have made friends with the fish vendors at the Tuesday and Friday market in Feltre. Twice a week we have amazing fish. We were cooking fresh shrimp from Sicily outside on the piastra, and this was the view from our table… One family from Holland was playing cards, another family from Sweden were playing ping pong and Trista in between being social…

It’s so hot these days that at least one swim in the river is required a day. Christian got some intertubes to float down the river.
